INSTITUTIONAL BENEFITS:
In 1881, the University of Connecticut (UConn) was established as Storrs Agricultural School with the help of land and money donated by Augustus Storrs and Charles Storrs. The school started classes on 28th September with a batch of 13 students and three faculty members. It was renamed as Storrs Agricultural College in 1893, as Connecticut Agricultural College in 1899 and again as Connecticut State College in 1933. It finally became the University of Connecticut in 1939. At present, the university consists of 14 schools and colleges. Also, it holds the accreditation of the Association of American Universities.
